Zao-X For Live Streaming

Cutting edge technology that enables encrypted live streaming and real-time remote control with glass-to-glass latency from 35ms worldwide. From live broadcasts to mobile surveillance and remote control of drones, robots, vehicles, and machinery, achieve seamless control and operation

The Zao-X is an H.265 HEVC encoder that can be used in a variety of wireless video streaming and remote control scenarios.

The Zao-X is a hardware transmitter for cellular that can stream fully encrypted live video. Simultaneously, a return data feed can be sent back from the operations center, enabling various operations such as controlling a 4G-enabled surveillance PTZ or broadcast camera, or remote control of a device that relies on a real-time operator such as a robot, drone or vehicle.

The Zao-X can reliably live stream over multiple bonded 4G and 5G SIM cards from different network providers. Additionally, it can support Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity.

At the receiving end, a Windows, Linux, or cloud based software decoder will provide a video output of the live video. End to end latency starts at a remarkable 0,04s.

Shoot
The period from when the light enters the lens of the camera until video data is on the output of the SDI/HDMI terminal on the camera

Capture
The period from capturing video data from SDI/HDMI and performing color space conversion until it is input to the encoder

Encode
The encoding (compression) time

Transfer
The period in which compressed data is extracted from the encoder and divided into communication packets for multilink transmission/reception. Includes time for error correction and packet sorting between each connection

Decode
The decoding (uncompression) time

AV Sync
The time until adjusting audio and video timing and outputting to SDI/HDMI

Display
The period from SDI/HDMI output of the receiver to display the video on monitor (monitor-dependent part)

Low Latency / RASCOW 2

Ultra Low Latency

RASCOW2 (Real-time Auto Speed Control based On Waterway-model) is Soliton’s second generation codec for video optimization. It ensures fast and highly reliable adaptive encoding that is optimized on available network bandwidth, even in the most challenging of situations.

Remote-Control

Remote Control

Teleoperation/driving

Zao-X enables remote control of a car, robot, drone or machinery in almost real-time from a remote location. Traditional encoders have a delay greater than 0,5 second that is too long for safe control.  Zao-X can remotely control machinery, viewing a live video stream and remote operation in almost real time.

Stable and High Speed

Stable and High Speed

Multilink Bonding

Mobile networks from different cellular telecom carriers can be bonded into one single network connection significantly increasing bandwidth and resilience. It remove the reliance on a single network operator and with RASCOW2 can deliver superior live streaming up to 4K video formats.

H264 versus H265

High Video Compression

H.265/HEVC

Zao-X is a highly efficient HEVC/H.265 hardware encoder and compared to a traditional H.264 codec, transmits video with almost half the bandwidth. Soliton's H.265 process is highly efficient for encoding and decoding that is a major element in the measure of super low latency video streaming.
